Slow download speed but fast upload speed...?

Just bought a HP Pavilion g6. I noticed that internet was a bit slow so i went to speedtest.net. My results: Ping 15. Download 0.27mbps. Upload 3.59mbps. It's it suppose to be the opposite??? Anyways....on my desktop, i get like Download ~10mbps and Upload ~5mbps. So thus, IT'S NOT A PROVIDER OR MODEM PROBLEM. However, when I use a wire, directly connecting my HP to my modem, the download speeds are regular. So I'm thinking it's my network adapter's problem. But even after updating my adapter, nothing has changed. Help? And let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance.
