Old version of itunes?

I was trying to buy a book on itunes but it said that i had to download the new version of itunes first. So i did. After i did this, I decided i didn't want to buy the book, but now i hate the new version of itunes. It has a new symbol and this new thing called ping. I really want the old version back but I have no idea what version i had before! I have a mac laptop and i got it Christmas 2009. Is there any way i can go back to the old version?
