Can Roman Catholic Priests wear any color outside of mass?

I ask this because I have always thought that they have to wear colors depending on the season (Lent, Easter, etc.). But, I saw my parish priest, Fr.Blake, and he was wearing a dark blue shirt. Then on the next day, he was wearing a purple shirt.
